If you are having trouble with your Admiral washing machine lid, this guide will give you easy-to-follow steps on how to replace it…
Admiral Washing Machine Lid Not Locking — How To Fix
If your Admiral washing machine lid isn’t locking, you’ll need to replace the lock assembly. Here’s how to do this…
Step 1. Turn off your machine’s power supply before starting this repair in order to prevent electrocution. Secure your washing machine’s lid with some tape.
Step 2. Use a 1/4 inch nut-driver to take out the bolts at the back of your washing machine holding the top panel.
Step 3. Take out the nuts holding the control panel rear access cover and pull the cover off the machine and set it aside.
Step 4. Unplug the lid switch wire connector from the control board and pass the wire through the opening on the top panel.
Step 5. Lift your washing machine’s top panel and support it. With a flat-blade screwdriver, release the lid switch wire from the retainers at the bottom of the top panel.
Step 6. Use a Philips screwdriver to take out the screws holding the lid switch to top panel. Pull the lid lock off and set it aside.
Step 7. Remove your new washing machine lid switch from its packaging. Mount the new lid switch on the top panel and apply the screws with your Philips screwdriver.
Step 8. Secure the lid lock wire in the retainers on the top panel and pass the wire connector through the opening on the top panel.
Step 9. Lower your washing machine’s top panel and snap it into the cabinet. Apply the bolts at the back to secure it.
Step 10. Plug the new lid switch wire into the retainer on the control board. Put the control panel rear access cover back on and apply the screws to secure it. Plug your machine back into the power supply and test the machine by running a wash cycle.
