Step 8. Connect each electrical connector to its appropriate terminal on the new drive motor. Carefully fit the drive belt around the new motor pulley and the washer pulley (the grooved side of the belt should face inwards).
Step 9. Put the drive belt cover back on and apply the bolts with your 10mm socket wrench to secure it. Lift your washing machine upright and peel the tape off the lid.
Step 10. Insert the drain hose back into your home drain. Reattach the venting to the back of your washing machine.
Step 11. Connect the COLD and HOT water supply lines back to the inlet ports at the back of your washing machine (ensure that you secure the connections properly in order to prevent water leakage).

Step 6. Use a socket wrench to take out the front mounting bolt from the tub. Insert a block of wood under the drum and lift it up slightly. Insert the mounting nut into the opening on the tub above the mounting base (this will hold the front of the tub up).
Step 7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the motor. Push the idler pulley inwards to release the tension on the drive belt. Pull the belt out of your washing machine and set it aside.
Step 8. Using a 3/8 inch wrench, take out the bolts holding the motor assembly to the base of your washing machine. Pull the motor out of your washing machine and set it aside.
Step 9. Take your new motor assembly out of its packaging. Mount the new motor on the base inside your washing machine and apply the mounting bolts to secure it.
Step 10. Connect the electrical connector to the new motor assembly. Push the idler pulley inwards again and fit the drive belt back into place.
Step 11. Pry the tub upwards with your wooden support and pull the bolt out of place. Carefully lower the tub and properly apply the bolt to secure it.
Step 12. Connect the electrical connectors to the capacitor on the motor shield. Put the motor shield back in place and apply the screws with your Philips screwdriver to secure it.
Step 13. Hook the two suspension springs back to the base of your washing machine. Snap the main front panel of your washing machine back on and apply the two screws at the bottom to secure it.
Step 14. Lower the main top panel of your washing machine and snap it into place. Peel the tape off the lid of your washing machine. Plug your washing machine’s power cord back to the power outlet and try running a wash cycle to see if the problem has been fixed.
