How To Unlock An LG Washing Machine Door — Solution

The door of your LG Is supposed to unlock automatically after running a cycle. However, there are a few things that may delay or completely stop the unlock process; here they are…

1.Washer Is Too Hot

If the temperature of your washing machine is too high, the washer won’t unlock until it is cool enough for you to take your clothes out. This tends to occur whenever you do a boil wash. All you really need to do is wait for an hour or so. The machine will unlock by itself.

2.Washer Hasn’t Drained

Another thing that can prevent your washing machine door from opening is if water is still in the drum. To prevent water leakage, many washing machine’s won’t allow you to open the doors unless the water has drained out.

Here’s what you need to do if your washing machine isn’t draining…

Step 11. Once the drain pump filter is clean, put it back in place and turn it clockwise to lock it.

Step 12. Put the panel back on.

Step 13. Go to the back of your washing machine.

Step 14. Inspect the drain hose at the back of your washer for any bends or kinks and straighten as needed. A bent or kinked hose can end up restricting water flow.
