Step 1. As a safety precaution, make sure to disconnect the appliance from the outlet and turn the water faucets off before starting this repair.

Step 2. Open the door of your machine. With a Torx-20 screwdriver, loosen the screws holding the strike to the door assembly. Take the part off the door, then discard it.

Step 3. Take your new washer door strike out of its packaging. Mount the new strike on the door assembly, then tighten the screws to secure it.

Step 4. Plug your washing machine back into the electrical outlet, then turn the taps back on. Turn the machine on to ensure that the door locks properly.
