Step 6. You will find some black hose’s connected to the water inlet valve. Use a pair of pliers to press the metal clamps on each of the hoses. While pressing, slide the clamps out of place.
Step 7. Disconnect the hoses from the water inlet valve (take note of the positioning of each hose).
Step 8. The water inlet valve is held to the washer by two screws next to the washer’s water inlet port. Take the screws out with a screwdriver.
Step 9. Pull the water inlet valve out of the washing machine.
Step 10. Take your new water inlet valve out of its pack.
Step 11. Pop the new water inlet valve in the same position as the one you removed.
Step 12. Reapply the two screws at the back of the washer to secure the water inlet valve.
Step 13. Connect each of the black hoses to its appropriate port on the water inlet valve.

Why Is My LG Washing Machine Overflowing?
There are two things that can cause your LG washing machine to overflow with water; a defective water pressure switch and a defective water inlet valve.
The water inlet valve in a washing machine is responsible for turning the water supply on or off. If this part is damaged, the valve won’t close properly. As a result, the washer will keep filling with water.
The water pressure switch also plays a key role. This part monitors the level of the water in the machine and signals the water inlet valve to shut off the water supply. So as you can see, these two parts work hand in hand.
To fix an overflow issue in your washer, you will need to replace one (or both) of these parts. Here’s how to find out which part is at fault…
Step 1. Turn on your washing machine’s water and power supply.
Step 2. Run a rinse cycle.
Step 3. Once the washer starts filling with water, turn off the power supply.
Step 4. If the washer is still filling with water, the issue is from the water inlet valve. If, on the other hand, the washer stops filling, the issue is from the water pressure switch.
