1.Transit Bolts Have Not Been Removed

The transit bots at the back of your washing machine are installed by the manufacturer to hold the drum in place. If these bolts aren’t removed, your washer may vibrate too much.

To remove the transit bolts at the back of your washing machine, use the spanner provided in your installation kit. Once you’ve removed the bolts, set them aside for future use.

2.Unbalanced Load

Do the following to fix an unbalanced load in your LG washing machine…

Step 1. Turn off your washing machine’s power supply.

Step 2. Open the door of your washing machine and inspect the quantity of clothes in the drum. Ensure that the drum hasn’t been filled past 3/4. If your washing machine is overloaded, it may cause a lot of vibrations during spin cycles.

Step 3. Ensure that your washing machine sits on a firm, even surface. If needed, use the spanner provided in your washer’s installation kit to adjust the legs.

Step 4. Close the door of your washing machine.

Step 5. Try running the spin cycle again to see if everything is working properly.

3.Defective Drum Bearings

If the methods above didn’t fix the issue, you’ll have to replace your washing machine’s drum bearings. Do the following to replace LG washing machine drum bearings…

Step 1. Purchase your new tub bearings (the set of bearings is bade up of three parts; depending on where you buy the bearings from, you may have to purchase each part separately).

Step 3. Go to the back of your washing machine.

Step 4. Take out the screws at the back of your washing machine holding the top panel with a Philips screwdriver.

Step 5. Once you’ve removed the screws, slide the panel back about an inch or so, and lift it off the washing machine.

Step 6. Pull out the soap dispenser and press the blue tab at the center to take it out of the washing machine completely.

Step 7. Take out the two screws beside the detergent drawer housing with a Philips screwdriver.

Step 8. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to release the clips at the back of the user control panel.

Step 9. Disconnect the user control panel from the front of your washing machine and lay it on top of the cabinet frame.

Step 10. Flip open the filter housing cover at the lower front of your washing machine.

Step 11. Pull out the emergency drain hose and take out the screw beside it with a Philips screwdriver.

Step 12. Pull the lower front panel off the washing machine.

Step 13. Open the door of your washing machine.

Step 14. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver under the retaining wire around the door seal and work your way around until the entire wire comes off.

Step 15. Push the door seal aside into the drum.

Step 16. Reach inside the washer behind the door lock and disconnect the electrical connector there.

Step 17. Using your Philips screwdriver, remove the five screws holding the main front of your washing machine (two at the top and three at the bottom).

Step 18. Lift the main front up and pull it out of the washing machine.

Step 19. Pull the cross member under the detergent drawer housing out.

Step 20. Lift the detergent drawer housing out of place.

Step 21. Use a pair of pliers to press and release the clamp holding the detergent hose to the tub of the washing machine.

Step 22. Push the detergent housing out of the way and lay it on top of the washing machine’s cabinet frame.

Step 23. Remove the screws holding the circular weight around the front of the drum using a Philips screwdriver.

Step 24. Get a 13mm socket wrench.

Step 25. Use the socket wrench to remove the bolts holding the weight at the top of the washing machine’s tub.

Step 26. Take a picture of the wire connectors attached to the lower front of the washing machine’s tub (this is the heater element).

Step 27. Disconnect each wire from the heater element.

Step 28. Undo the nut at the center of the heater element and pull the heater element out of your washing machine.

Step 29. Go to the bottom of the washing machine’s tub and remove the screw holding the main drain hose to the tub.

Step 30. Disconnect the drain hose from the washing machine.

Step 31. Using your Philips screwdriver, release the cables that are still connected to your washing machine’s tub.

Step 32. Go to the back of your washing machine.

Step 33. Using your Philips screwdriver, remove the screws securing the rear panel of your washing machine.

Step 34. Lift the rear panel up and pull it out off the washing machine.

Step 35. Using a 19mm socket wrench, remove the bolt at the center of the motor assembly at the back of the washing machine’s tub.

Step 36. Pull the motor assembly out of the washing machine.

Step 37. Switch to a 10mm socket wrench and remove the six bolts securing the drive motor stator to the back of the washer’s tub.

Step 38. Detach the drive motor stator from the back of the washing machine’s tub.

Step 39. Disconnect the electrical connectors of the drive motor stator connected to the drum.

Step 40. Disconnect any other wires connected to the back of the washing machine’s tub.

Step 41. Disconnect the dampers at the base of your washer securing the tub.

Step 42. Remove the springs at the top of the drum connected to the cabinet.

Step 43. Pull the drum out of the washing machine through the front or top of the cabinet frame

Step 44. Using a socket wrench, take out all the bolts holding both halves of the drum together.

Step 45. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to detach the two halves of the drum.

Step 46. Use a mallet to tap the end of the drum shaft to free it from the bearings (use a socket extension as a drift to help push it out).

Step 47. Lay the tub down flat on the ground.

Step 48. Using a screwdriver, pry out the rubber seal from inside the tub.

Step 49. Clean the face of the inner bearing.

Step 50. Apply some penetrating fluid to the inner bearing in order to make it easier to remove.

Step 51. Turn the tub the other way around.

Step 52. Use the mallet and socket extension to knock the inner bearing out of the washing machine’s tub.

Step 53. Turn the tub over again.

Step 54. Remove the inner bearing from the washer’s tub.

Step 55. Apply some penetrating fluid to lubricate the outer bearing.

Step 56. Using a chisel or flat-blade screwdriver, work the rim of the outer bearing free.

Step 57. Once the outer bearing has been removed, clean the bearing housing.

Step 58. Get your new bearings out of their pack.

Step 59. Knock the new bearings into the housing using your mallet and socket extension. Ensure that you apply even pressure on all sides of the bearing.

Step 60. Push the new seal into the bearing housing.

Step 61. Lower the drum into the tub (ensure that the shaft of the drum sits in the bearings).

Step 62. Put the second half of the tub back in place and secure the two halves to each other by applying the screws around.

Step 63. Put the tub back in the washing machine’s cabinet frame.

Step 64. Attach the springs to the top of the washer’s tub and hook them to the sides of the cabinet frame.

Step 65. Secure the dampers to the base of the washer’s tub.

Step 66. Reconnect the drain hose and pressure chamber to the bottom of the washing machine’s tub.

Step 67. Place the weight back on the front of the washing machine and secure it by applying any screws or bolts.

Step 68. Put the weight back at the top of the washing machine’s tub.

Step 69. Put the detergent drawer housing back in place and connect the hose to the washing machine’s tub using the clamp.

Step 70. Put the heater element back in the washing machine and apply the nut at the center.

Step 71. Using the images you took as reference, connect all electrical connectors at the front of your washing machine to their appropriate terminals.

Step 72. Go to the back of your washing machine.

Step 73. Reconnect the motor stator wire connectors as well as any other wires at the back of the washing machine’s tub.

Step 74. Put the drive motor stator back on the tub’s rear and secure it by applying the six 10mm bolts.

Step 75. Put the motor assembly back on top of the motor stator and secure it by applying the screw at the center.

Step 76. Put the rear panel of the washing machine back on and secure it by applying the screws.

Step 77. Go back to the front of your washing machine.

Step 78. Put the main front of your washing machine back on and secure it by applying the five screws (three at the bottom and two at the top).

Step 79. Open the door of your washing machine.

Step 80. Reach in and reconnect the door lock’s electrical connector.

Step 81. Fit the door seal back around the door opening.

Step 82. Fit the retaining band around the door seal (you’ll need a flat-blade screwdriver to do this.

Step 83. Close the door of your washing machine.

Step 84. Put the lower front panel of your washing machine back on and apply the screw beside the emergency drain hose to secure it.

Step 85. Snap the user control panel back in place and secure it by applying the two screws beside the detergent drawer housing.

Step 86. Put the detergent drawer housing back in place.

Step 87. Put the main top of your washing machine back on and secure it by applying the screws at the back.

Step 88. Ensure that all connections are properly secured.

Step 89. Turn on your washing machine’s water and power supply.

Step 3. Using a Philips screwdriver, take out the five screws securing the user control panel at the back of the washer (three at the top and two at the bottom).

Step 31. Put the main front panel of the washing machine back on and secure it by applying the six Philips screws at the top.

Step 32. Snap the user control panel back in place.

Step 33. Reapply the detergent drawer housing screws and apply the screw at the back of the user control board.

Step 34. Put the soap drawer back in place.

Step 35. Slide the main top panel of the washer back on and apply the screws at the back to secure it.

Step 36. Use a Philips screwdriver to reapply the lower front mounting screw.

Step 37. Put the drain pump filter housing back in place and reapply the screw to secure it.

Step 38. Close the drain pump filter housing cover.

Step 39. Open the door of your washing machine.

Step 40. Reach inside the washing machine and reconnect the door lock electrical connector.

Step 41. Fit the door seal back around the door opening.
