Step 3. Run the wire around the door and pull the two ends gently but firmly towards your left (away from the door lock). This should manually force the door open.

Step 4. Order a new door lock assembly online (make sure to check the model of your washer when ordering).

Step 5. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver under the retaining wire of the door seal and work your way around you can take the whole wire out.

Step 6. Peel the door seal back a bit from the door lock.

Step 7. Using a Philips screwdriver, remove the two screws holding the door lock to the washing machine.

Step 8. Put your hand inside the washer to support the other end of the door lock and detach the electrical connector connected to the door lock.

Step 9. Get your new door lock assembly out of its pack.

Step 10. Install the new door lock into the same position as the one you removed and secure it to the washing machine by applying the two screws.

Step 11. Connect the electrical connector inside the washing machine to the terminal on the door lock assembly.

Do the following to replace the door seal on your LG washing machine…

Step 1. Turn off your washing machine’s water and power supply to avoid electrocution and water leakage.

Step 2. Using a Philips screwdriver, take out the two screws at the back of the washing machine holding the top panel.

Step 3. Slide the panel back a few inches and lift it off the washing machine.

Step 4. Pull out the washing machine’s detergent drawer and press the blue tab in the middle to take it out completely.

Step 5. Using a Philips screwdriver, take out the screw on each side of the detergent drawer housing.

Step 6. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, release the two clips at the back of the user control board and detach the board from the washing machine.

Step 7. Set the control board down on top of the washer’s frame.

Step 8. Open the filter flap at the lower front of your washing machine.

Step 9. Pull out the emergency drain hose and take out the screw beside it with a Philips screwdriver.

Step 10. Pull the lower front panel off the washing machine.

Step 11. Open the door of your washing machine.

Step 12. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver under the retaining wire around the door seal and work your way around until you can take the whole wire off.

Step 13. Peel the door seal from the door opening.

Step 14. Reach inside the washer and detach the electrical connector of the door lock.

Step 15. Using a Philips screwdriver, take out the five screws holding the main front of the washing machine (two at the top and three at the bottom).

Step 16. Lift the main front up and out of the washing machine.

Step 17. Detach the tube connected to the top of the door seal (keep the nozzle on the tube in a safe place; you’ll need it for the new one).

Step 18. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver under the inner retaining wire on the door seal and work your way around until the whole thing comes off.

Step 19. Pull the door seal off the washing machine.

Step 20. Get your new door seal out of its pack.

Step 21. Install the nozzle from the old door seal to the new one.

Step 22. Fit the door seal into the washing machine (ensure that you follow the indicators on the door seal). Rub some dish-washing liquid around the grooves of the door seal to help it stay in place easily.

Step 23. Fit the inner retaining band around the new door seal (you’ll need a flat-blade screwdriver to this).

Step 24. Connect the tube from the washing machine to the nozzle on the new door seal.

Step 25. Put the main front of the washing machine back on and secure it by applying the five screws.

Step 26. Reach inside the washer and reconnect the electrical connector to the door lock.

Step 27. Fit the new door seal around the door opening.

Step 28. Fit the outer retaining band on the door seal (you’ll need a flat-blade screwdriver to help you do this).

Step 29. Close the door of your washing machine.

Step 30. Put the lower front of the washing machine back on and secure it by applying the screw next to the emergency drain hose.

Step 31. Snap the user control panel back in place and secure it by applying the screws beside the detergent drawer housing.

Step 32. Put the detergent drawer back in the washing machine.

Step 33. Put the main top of the washing machine back on and secure it by applying the two screws at the back.

Step 14. Untwist the wire retainers holding the door lock’s wire sleeve.

Step 15. Pull the lid lock assembly and wire out of the washing machine.

Step 16. Get your new door lock assembly out of it’s pack.

Step 17. Transfer the wire sleeve retainer from the old lid lock to the new one.

Step 18. Position the lid lock under the main top of the washer and secure it by applying the screws.

Step 19. Secure the wire sleeve retainer.

Step 20. Secure the wire sleeve in the tabs on the dispenser housing.

Step 21. Secure the wire sleeve to the tube by twisting the wire retainer.

Step 22. Insert the connector of the lid lock through the whole at the main top.

Step 23. Lower the main top of your washing machine and snap it in place.

Step 24. Close the lid of your washing machine.

Step 25. Detach the control housing one more.

Step 26. Connect the new lid lock wire connector to the main control board.

Step 27. Put the cover of the main control board back on and secure it by applying the screws.

Step 28. Reposition the control housing.

Step 29. Put the cover of the control panel back in place and secure it by applying the five screws.

Step 30. Turn on your washing machine’s water and power supply.

Step 31. Run a wash cycle to ensure that everything is working properly.

LG Washing Machine Door Glass Broken — How To Fix

Here’s how to replace broken glass on your LG washing machine…

Step 1. Turn off your washing machine’s water and power supply to avoid electrocution and water leakage.

Step 2. Open the door of your washing machine.

Step 3. Using a Philips screwdriver, take out the four screws holding the door hinge to the washing machine.

Step 4. Lift the door upwards and pull it off the front of the washing machine.

Step 5. To fully detach the door assembly, disconnect the electrical connector attached to the door hinge.

Step 6. Using your Philips screwdriver, take out all the screws holding the outer door frame to the inner door panel.

Step 7. Lift the inner door panel off the door assembly and set it aside.
