Step 1. It is advised that you disconnect your washer’s power cord from the outlet before starting this repair, in order to prevent electrocution.

Take the following steps to replace a damaged inlet valve in your front loader Zanussi washing machine…
Step 1. In order to prevent leakage and electrocution, ensure that you disconnect your appliance from the power outlet and turn the water supply taps off before starting this repair.
Step 2. Using pliers if needed, detach the COLD and HOT water inlet hoses from the ports at the back of the machine (ensure that you keep a rag nearby in case water leaks).
Step 3. Loosen the bolts at the back of the machine securing the top panel, using a Philips screwdriver. Slide the panel backwards a few inches, then lift it off the cabinet.
Step 4. Use your screwdriver to take out the bolts securing the vibration dampener. Lift the block off the top of the machine and set it aside.
Step 5. Disconnect the wire connector from the power cord inside the cabinet. Detach the power cord grounding wire from the frame.
Step 6. Use needle-nosed pliers to release the power cord wire retainer from the cabinet. With your Philips screwdriver, take out the bolt securing the drain hose retainer to the back of the cabinet.
Step 7. Using your screwdriver, loosen the bolts securing the top mounting bracket to the rear of the cabinet. Lift the bracket off the machine and set it aside.
Step 8. Take out the screws holding the rear panel to the cabinet. Lift the panel out of place and set it aside (the drain hose will still run through the panel).
Step 9. Detach the wire harnesses connected to the valve assembly (ensure nthat you note where each plug goes).
Step 10. With your Philips screwdriver, take out the nuts securing the inlet valve assembly to the dispenser. Pull the valve off and discard it.
Step 11. Prepare your new washing machine water inlet valve for installation by unpacking it.
Step 12. Attach the new inlet valve to the dispenser assembly, then secure it by applying the Philips screws.
Step 13. Plug each wire harness into its appropriate terminal on the valve assembly. Lift the rear panel, then remount it on the cabinet. Secure the panel by applying the Philips screws.
Step 14. Put the top rear support bracket back in place, then apply the Philips screws. Slide the retainer onto the drain hose, then apply the bolt.
Step 15. Plug the power cord wire harness back in, then reattach the grounding wire. Snap the wire retainer into the slot on the cabinet.
Step 16. Put the vibration dampening block on the machine, then secure it by tightening the Philips screws.
Step 17. Remount the top cover on the machine, then slide it forwards. Secure the top panel by tightening the Philips screws.
Step 18. Reattach the COLD and HOT water supply hoses to the ports at the back of the cabinet (make sure to properly connect each hose, in order to prevent leaks).
Step 19. Turn the water supply faucets on plug the power cord into the outlet. To ensure that the issue has been fixed, test your machine by running a wash cycle.
Top Loaders
Follow the steps below to replace a damaged water inlet valve in your Zanussi top loader washing machine…
Step 1. Ensure that you disconnect your washing machine from the power outlet and turn the water taps off in order to prevent leakage and electrocution.
Step 2. Disconnect the two water supply hoses from the ports at the back of the machine (keep a rag nearby in case water spills).
Step 3. Place some tape on your washing machine lid to help secure it. Insert a putty knife underneath the front corners of the top panel.
Step 4. Lift the top panel carefully and support it. Reach into the cabinet behind the tub, then disconnect the wires from the inlet valve assembly.
Step 5. Use pliers to squeeze the retaining clamp securing the outlet hose to the inlet valve, then slide it out of place. Detach the hose from the valve.

Step 9. Plug the wire harnesses into the new inlet valve. Connect the outlet hose to the new valve, then slide the retaining clamp into place.
Step 10. Lower the top panel and snap it onto the cabinet. Peel the tape off the lid of your machine.
Step 11. Go to the back of the cabinet, then reconnect the COLD and HOT water supply hoses.
Step 12. Turn the water supply taps back on, then plug the power cord into the outlet. Ensure that the issue has been fixed by running a wash cycle.
