Here are the steps to follow if your Samsung washing machine is not draining or spinning:

Do the following if your Samsung washing machine is not draining:

Step 1. Disconnect your washer from its power and water supply (to avoid water spills or electrocution).

Step 2. Look for a panel in front of your washer at the bottom (front loaders only).

Step 3. Open the panel by pressing it (front loaders only).

Step 4. Get a bowl and some towels.

Step 5. Place the towels on the ground in front of your washer (front loaders only).

Step 6. Look for a little panel in front your washer at the bottom (front loaders only).

Step 7. Open the panel by pressing it.

Step 8. Look for the small capped hose underneath the panel.

Step 9. Pull the hose’s cap off and drain the water in your machine out into your bowl.

Step 10. Put the hose back in place.

Step 11. Look for the debris filter underneath the panel (for top loaders, this filter will be located inside the drum).

Step 12. Pull the filter out by turning it counterclockwise (for top loaders, press the little tab above the filter and pull the filter out of its place).

Step 13. Run some warm water over the filter and clean it with a soft brush*.

Step 14. Put the filter back in place.

Step 15.Ensure that the drain hose at the back of the machine hasn’t been inserted more or less than 6 inches into the drain pipe.

Step 16. Ensure that the hose is suspended at a height of at least 18 inches but not above 96 inches (this will ensure proper water flow when draining).

Step 4.Ensure that the drain hose at the back of the machine hasn’t been inserted more or less than 6 inches into the drain pipe.

Step 5. Ensure that the hose is suspended at a minimum height of 18 inches but not more that 96 inches.

Step 6. Ensure that the washer door is firmly closed.

Step 7. Look for a panel in front of your washer at the bottom (front loaders only).

Step 8. Open the panel by pressing it (front loaders only).

Step 9. Look for the debris filter underneath the panel (for top loaders, this filter will be located inside the drum).

Step 11. Pull the filter out by turning it counterclockwise (for top loaders, press the little tab above the filter and pull the filter out of its place).

Step 12. Run some warm water over the filter and clean it with a soft brush.

Step 13. Put the filter back in place.
