Step 6. Turn the assembly over and put the inner door frame on the door assembly. Secure the two halves by applying the screws with your Torx screwdriver.

Step 7. Lift the door assembly and mount it on the cabinet. Apply the screws with your Torx screwdriver to secure the door hinge to the cabinet. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

Step 1. In order to prevent electrical damage, ensure that your washing machine’s power cord is disconnected from the outlet before starting this repair.

Step 2. Open your machine’s door and use a Torx screwdriver to loosen the nuts holding the door hinges to the cabinet. Pull the door assembly off the machine.

Step 3. Set the door assembly face-down on a flat surface. Use your screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the inner door frame to the assembly. Lift the inner door frame and door glass, then set them aside.

Step 4. Turn the outer door frame over and set it down. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver under the door catch and spring assembly to release it.

Step 5. Carefully pull the door handle off the outer door frame, then discard it. Remove your new washing machine door handle from its packaging.

Step 6. Push the new door handle into place on the frame. Snap the spring and catch assembly back onto the door frame.

Step 7. Put the door assembly pieces back together, then use your Torx screwdriver to apply the screws.

Step 8. Lift the door assembly and mount it onto the front of the cabinet. Secure the door to the panel by applying the screws with your Torx screwdriver. Plug your machine back into the electrical outlet.
