Bosch Washing Machine Pump Not Working — Solved
If your Bosch washing machine pump isn’t working, here are the things that could be at fault…
1. Improperly Plugged Wires
To fix improperly plugged pump wires in your Bosch washing machine, here are the steps you’ll need to take…
Step 1. Unplug your machine’s power cord from the outlet before starting this repair in order to prevent electrocution.
Step 2. Slide the soap tray out of the housing, then press the tab inside to release it. Use a Torx screwdriver to loosen the bolts at the back of the cabinet holding the top panel.
Step 3. Pull the panel backwards about an inch or so, then lift it off the machine. Pry the lower access panel off the cabinet and set it aside.
Step 4. Use your screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the control panel. Unplug the electrical connectors from the board. Open the door of your machine and loosen the screws securing the door lock assembly using a Torx screwdriver.
Step 5. Insert a flat-blade screwdriver under the wire around the door gasket, then work it around until the wire comes off.
Step 6. Peel the door gasket off the front panel. Use your screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the entire front panel to the cabinet.
Step 7. Lift the panel upwards, then lift it off the cabinet. Check the drain pump assembly at the bottom of the tub. Inspect the electrical connector and ensure that it is properly connected to the pump.
Step 8. Lift the front panel and mount it on the cabinet. Apply the bolts at the bottom and top of the panel using a Torx screwdriver.
Step 9. Snap the lower front access panel onto the machine. Open the door and push the lock assembly back into place. Apply the screws using your Torx screwdriver.
Step 10. Fit the door gasket around the front panel. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to fit the retaining wire around the gasket.
Step 11. Plug each electrical connector into its appropriate terminal on the control board. Snap the panel onto the front of the cabinet, then use your Torx screwdriver to apply the screws.
Step 12. Slide the detergent tray back into the dispenser. Place the top panel on the cabinet, then apply the screws at the back using a Torx screwdriver.
Step 13. Reconnect your washing machine to the electrical outlet, then try running a wash cycle to see if the issue has been fixed.

2. Pump Has Failed
If your Bosch washing machine pump has failed, it will need to be replaced. Here are the steps you’ll need to take to do this…
Step 1. In order to prevent electrical damage, ensure that your washing machine is disconnected from the power outlet before starting this repair.
Step 2. Open your washer’s door. Using your Torx screwdriver, loosen the screws holding the door lock assembly to the cabinet..
Step 3. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver underneath the retaining wire around the door boot seal. Work the screwdriver around until the wire comes off.
Step 4. Peel the door boot seal off the front panel. Go to the back of the machine and remove the screws holding the top panel to the cabinet using your Torx screwdriver.
Step 5. Pull the panel backwards about an inch or so, then lift it off the machine. Pull the detergent tray out of the dispenser and set it aside.
Step 6. Use your screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the control panel to the front of the machine. Pry the panel off the cabinet using a flat-blade screwdriver.
Step 7. Note the positioning of the electrical connectors attached to the control board, then unplug each one. Set the control panel aside.
Step 8. Use your Torx screwdriver to loosen the screws at the bottom and top of the front panel.
Step 9. Pull the panel upwards slightly, then lift it off the cabinet. Disconnect the electrical connector attached to the pump assembly.
Step 10. Using a pair of pliers squeeze the clamps on the hoses attached to the pump assembly, then slide them out of place.
Step 11. Pull the hoses off the drain pump (ensure that you keep a rag nearby to clean any water leaks).
Step 12. Using a screwdriver, loosen the bolts holding the pump assembly to the cabinet. Pull the drain pump out of the cabinet, then discard it.
Step 13. Remove your new washing machine drain pump assembly from its packaging.
Step 14. Install the new pump assembly in the cabinet, then apply the screws to secure it.
Step 15. Connect the hoses to their appropriate ports on the new drain pump assembly. Slide the retaining clamps into place to secure the hoses.
Step 16. Plug the electrical connectors into the terminals on the pump assembly. Lift the front panel and mount it on the machine. With your screwdriver, apply the screws at the bottom and top of the panel.
Step 17. Snap the lower front access panel onto the cabinet. Reconnect each electrical connector to its appropriate terminal on the control board.
Step 18. Snap the control panel onto the front of the machine, then apply the screws using your Torx screwdriver. Slide the detergent dispenser into the housing.
Step 19. Place the top panel on the cabinet, then apply the screws at the back using your screwdriver.
Step 20. Open your machine’s door, then push the door lock back into place. Secure the lock assembly by applying the screws with your screwdriver.
Step 21. Fit the door gasket around the front panel. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to fit the retaining wire around the door gasket.
