How To Install A Samsung Washing Machine Drain Hose – Method 1

Do the following to install a drain hose on your Samsung washing machine…

Step 1. Turn off your washer’s water and power supply.

Step 2. Move your washing machine forward a bit to give you access to the back of the washer.

Step 3. Take your drain hose out of its clamp.

Step 4. If the hose came with the washer, it should have a metal clamp attached to it. If yours does not, you will have to order it separately.

Step 5. Connect your drain hose to the drain opening at the back of the washer.

Step 6. Slide the metal clamp in place so that it holds the hose to th drain opening.

Step 7. Depending on your type of washer, there may be some clamps running up the back of the washer. Pass the hose through these clamps. This will keep the drain hose suspended above the ground.

Step 8. Insert the other end of your drain hose into your home drain.

Step 9. Ensure that you don’t insert the drain hose more than 8 inches into your home drain. It also shouldn’t be inserted less than 6 inches.

Step 10. If your home drain opening is a standpipe, ensure that an airtight connection isn’t formed between the drain hose and the home drain.

Step 2. If your washer is backing a wall, move it forward a bit to give you access to the back of the machine.

Step 3. Using a Philips screwdriver, remove the screws securing the back panel of the washing machine.

Step 4. Pull the back panel out of place.

Step 5. Depending on your washer’s model, you should find a control board inside the back of the washer. You will need to unmount the board and slide it out of place. To do this, remove the screws holding the board, and then move the board to the left a bit. This will allow you to access the drain pump.

Step 6. If you look carefully inside the back of the washer, you will see the drain pump. Take your drain hose out of it’s pack and connect one end of it to the drain pump.

Step 7. Your drain hose should come with a metal clamp. Slide the clamp in place so that it sits on the connection between the drain hose and the drain pump.

Step 8. Pass the other end of the hose through the round opening at the back of the washer.

Step 9. There should be clamps at the back of the machine. Pass the hose through these clamps and screw in place if needed. This will keep the hose suspended above the ground.

Step 10. Move the control panel back in position and reapply the screws to secure it.

Step 11. Put the washer’s rear access panel back in place and reapply all the screws.

Step 12. Connect your drain hose to your home drain. If your home drain is a standpipe ensure that an airtight connection is not formed between the drain hose and your home drain.

Step 13. Ensure that the drain hose isn’t inserted less than 6 inches into your home drain. It also shouldn’t be inserted more than 8 inches.

Step 14. Turn on your washer’s water and power supply.

How To Install A Samsung Washing Machine

Here’s a step-by-step procedure on how to install a Samsung washing machine…

Step 1. Unpack your washing machine.

Step 2. Open your washer’s door to gain access to the drum.

Step 3. Inside the drum you will find all the washer’s accessories. Take everything out of the drum.

Step 4. Move your washer to a suitable location. You should keep your machine on a firm, level surface. It also should not stay near heat emitting appliances such as furnaces or ovens. It is advised that you keep the machine in an environment with good ventilation.

Step 5. Go to the back of your washing machine.

Step 6. At the back of your washer, you will find some transit bolts attached to it. Remove the bolts using the provided spanner and keep them in a safe place. The number of bolts will vary depending on your washer model. Please refer to your manual to learn the exact number.

Step 7. Cover the transit bolt holes by pushing the provided plastic caps into them.

Step 8. Take one end of your washer’s supplied water inlet hose and connect it to the port at the back of the machine.

Step 9. Connect the other end of the water inlet hose to your home water supply. Ensure that your water supply is turned off when you are doing this.

Step 10. Ensure that all connections are secure in order to avoid water leakage.

Step 17. For newer washers, you will need to calibrate the machine before doing any laundry. To do this, simply press the Delay End and Temp buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds. You should then see the code Clb on the display. This means that the machine is in calibration mode.

Step 18. After roughly 3 minutes, the machine will finish calibration. Your washer is then ready for use.

Note: This process works for both front loader and top loader washing machines.
