Bosch Washing Machine Not Heating — Solution
If your Bosch washing machine isn’t heating any water it indicates that the heating element is damaged. To fix the problem you’ll need to replace the heating element.
How To Change Bosch Washing Machine Heating Element
Here are the steps you’ll need to take to replace a Bosch washing machine heating element…
Step 1. In order to prevent electrical damage, make sure your washing machine is unplugged from the outlet before starting this repair.
Step 2. Use a Torx screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the top panel to the cabinet. Pull the panel backwards about an inch or so, then lift it off the machine.
Step 3. Slide the soap tray out of the housing, then press the tab to release it from the detergent dispenser.
Step 4. With your Torx screwdriver, loosen the bolts holding the control panel to the front of the cabinet. Pry the panel off the cabinet using a flat-blade screwdriver.
Step 5. Unplug the electrical connectors attached to the control panel (ensure to take note of where each connector goes). Set the control panel aside.
Step 6. Pry the lower front access panel off the machine, then set it aside. Open the door of your machine.
Step 7. Use your screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the door lock to the cabinet. With a flat-blade screwdriver, pry the retaining wire off the door gasket. Peel the gasket off the panel.
Step 8. Using a Torx screwdriver, take out the screws holding the front panel to the cabinet. Lift the panel off the machine and set it aside.
Step 9. Note the positioning of each electrical connector attached to the heating element, the disconnect each one.
Step 10. Using a 10mm socket wrench, loosen the bolt holding the heating element to the tub. Slide the element out of the housing.
Step 11. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to pry the thermostat off the heating element. Discard the element and take the new one out of its packaging.
Step 12. Snap the thermostat into the hole on the new heating element. Slide the heating element into the housing, then use your socket wrench to apply the bolt.
Step 13. Reconnect the electrical connectors to their appropriate terminals on the heating element.
Step 14. Lift the front panel and snap it back onto the cabinet. With your Torx screwdriver, apply the screws at the top and bottom of the panel. Snap the lower front access panel onto the cabinet.
Step 15. Plug each wire connector into its appropriate terminal on the control panel. Snap the panel onto the cabinet, then apply the screws using your Torx screwdriver.
Step 16. Place the top panel back on the machine, then use your screwdriver to apply the screws at the back.
Step 17. Slide the soap tray back into the housing. Open your machine’s door then put the door lock back in place. Apply the screws using your screwdriver.
Step 18. Fit the door gasket around the front panel. Use your needle-nosed pliers to fit the metal band around the gasket.
Step 19. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. To ensure that the issue has been fixed, try running a wash cycle.

Bosch Washing Machine Overheating — Quick Fix

Step 1. Make sure to unplug your washing machine’s power cord from the outlet before starting this repair in order to prevent electrical damage.
Step 2. Use a Torx screwdriver, loosen the screws at the back of the machine holding the top panel to the cabinet. Slide the panel backwards about an inch or so, then lift it off the cabinet.
Step 3. Pry your machine’s lower front access panel off and set it aside. Open your washing machine’s door. Use your screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the door lock to the cabinet.
Step 4. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver under the retaining band around the door gasket, then work it around until the entire wire comes off.
Step 5. Peel the gasket off the panel. Slide the soap drawer out of the housing and set it aside.
Step 6. Using your Torx screwdriver, loosen the bolts holding the control panel to the front of the cabinet. Pry the panel off the machine.
Step 7. Take note of where each electrical connector goes on the control panel, then disconnect. Set the control panel aside.
Step 8. Loosen the screws at the top and bottom of the front panel using a screwdriver. Carefully pull the panel upwards, then lift it off the machine.
Step 9. Unplug the electrical connectors attached to the heating element at the bottom of the tub (ensure that you take note of where each connector goes).
Step 10. Use a 10mm socket wrench to loosen the screw holding the heating element. Slide the heater out of the housing.
Step 11. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to pry the thermostat off the heating element. Discard the thermostat and take the new one out of its packaging.
Step 12. Push the new thermostat into the hole on the heating element. Slide the heating element into the housing, then apply the bolt with your socket wrench.
Step 13. Reconnect each wire harness to its appropriate terminal on the heating element.
Step 14. Carefully lift the front panel and mount it on the cabinet. With your Torx screwdriver, apply the nuts at the top and bottom of the panel.
Step 15. Open the door of the machine and push the door lock back into place. Secure the door lock assembly by applying the screws with your Torx screwdriver.
Step 16. Fit the door gasket around the panel. Secure the door gasket by fitting the retaining band around it.
Step 17. Snap the lower front access panel onto the machine. Plug each electrical connector to its appropriate terminal on the control panel.
Step 18. Snap the control panel onto the cabinet, then use your screwdriver to apply the screws. Slide the detergent tray into the dispenser.
Step 19. Place the top panel on your washing machine, then apply the screws at the back using a Torx screwdriver.
Step 20. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet, then try running a wash cycle to ensure that the problem has been fixed.
