Step 1. Make sure to unplug your washing machine from its power source and turn off the water supply before attempting any repairs in order to prevent water leakage and electrical damage.

Step 2. Use a Philips screwdriver to take out the screws holding the back of the control panel. Pull the panel off your washing machine and set it aside. Pull out the timer locking pin with a flat-blade screwdriver.

Step 3. Pull the timer knob and skirt off the control panel. Use a Philips screwdriver to take out the screw beside the knob shaft. Push on the timer locking tab and push the timer towards your left. Pull the timer assembly off the control panel.

Step 4. Disconnect the electrical connector attached to the timer assembly and set it aside. Take your new timer assembly out of its packaging and connect the electrical connectors to it.

Step 5. Position the new timer assembly on the control panel and snap it into place. Apply the mounting screw on the control panel with a Philips screwdriver to secure. Put the knob skirt onto the timer knob shaft.

Step 6. Pull the locking pin out of the timer with a screwdriver. Push the timer knob onto the knob shaft. Put the Rear cover of the control panel back on and apply the screws with your screwdriver to secure it. Turn on your washing machine’s water supply and plug the power cord back in. Run a wash cycle to make sure everything is working properly.

Step 1. Ensure that you unplug your washing machine from its power source before starting any repairs in order to prevent electrocution.

Step 2. Push the timer knob in and rotate it counter-clockwise until it pops out of the control panel. Pull the washer and indicator dial off the control panel.

Step 3. Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the screws at the back of your washing machine holding the top panel. Slide the top panel backwards and lift it off your washing machine.

Step 4. Use your Philips screwdriver to take out the mounting screws holding the timer in place. Pull the timer out of place. Disconnect the two electrical connectors attached to it.

Step 5. Set the old timer aside and take your new washing machine timer assembly out of its packaging. Connect the electrical connectors to the new timer assembly.

Step 6. Align the new timer with the support bracket and apply the mounting screws with your Philips screwdriver to secure. Slide the top panel of your washing machine back in place and apply the screws at the back to secure it.

Step 7. Put the timer indicator dial and washer back on the control panel. Put the timer knob back in place on the control panel and rotate it clockwise to secure. Plug your washing machine back to its power source and run a cycle to see if the issue has been resolved.
