1. Damaged Water Pressure Switch
If your Samsung washing machine overflows, it could be that the pressure switch is damaged. This switch monitors the water level and tells the valve to shut off; if it fails, you’ll need to replace it. Here’s how to do this…
Front Loaders
Take the following steps to replace the water level sensor in your front loader Samsung washing machine…
Step 1. In order to prevent any chances of electrocution, ensure that you disconnect your appliance from the power outlet before starting this repair.
Step 2. Loosen the bolts at the back of the machine securing the top panel using a Philips screwdriver. Slide the panel backwards about an inch or so, then lift it off the machine.
Step 3. Detach the wire harness from the water pressure switch at the side of the cabinet.
Step 4. Loosen the nut securing the water pressure switch to the cabinet using your Philips screwdriver. Take the switch off the cabinet.
Step 5. Detach the tube connected to the pressure switch. Discard the old water level switch, then prepare the new one for installation by unpacking.
Step 6. Reconnect the pressure tube to the port on the new level sensor. Mount the sensor on the cabinet, then tighten the nut using your Philips screwdriver.
Step 7. Plug the wire connector into the new pressure switch. Mount the top panel on the cabinet, then push it forwards. Apply the Philips screws at the back of the top panel.
Step 8. Plug your machine back into the electrical outlet, then try running a wash cycle to ensure that the issue has been fixed.
Top Loaders
To replace the water level switch in your top loader Samsung washing machine, follow the steps below…
Step 1. Prevent any chances of electrocution by disconnecting the appliance from the outlet before starting this repair.
Step 2. Loosen the nuts at the back of the machine securing the control panel’s rear access cover. Pry the cover off the machine and set it aside.
Step 3. Detach the control panel from the mounting base, then set it face-down on the cabinet.
Step 4. With your Philips screwdriver, take out the nuts securing the rear panel to the cabinet. Pry the panel off the cabinet and set it aside.
Step 5. Loosen the nut securing the wire and tube access panel. Lift the panel off and set it aside.
Step 6. Squeeze the spring clamp holding the pressure tube to the port at the side of the tub. Detach the tube from the tub.
Step 7. Pull the pressure tube out of the retainer. Disconnect the wire harness plugged into the pressure sensor at the top of the machine.
Step 8. Pry the pressure sensor out of the base. Discard the pressure sensor and tube assembly. Prepare the new pressure sensor for installation by unpacking it.
Step 9. Push the new switch into the seat at the top of the machine. Secure the pressure tube in the retainer.
Step 10. Connect the new tube to the port at the side of the tub, then secure it by sliding the retaining clamp into place.
Step 11. Put the wire and tube plate back on, then apply the Philips screws. Lift the control panel and snap it into the base. Plug the wire harness into the new switch.
Step 12. Mount the rear cover onto the control panel, then tighten the bolts using your Philips screwdriver.
Step 13. Snap the rear access panel onto the cabinet. Secure the panel by applying the Philips screws.
Step 14. Plug your washing machine back into the electrical outlet, then try running a wash cycle to ensure that the issue has been fixed.
2. Faulty Inlet Valve

Front Loaders
Follow the steps below to replace the inlet valve assembly in your front loader Samsung washing machine…
Step 1. In order to prevent any chances of electrocution or leakage, ensure that you disconnect your appliance from the power outlet and turn the water taps off before starting this repair.
Step 2. Using pliers if needed, disconnect the HOT and COLD water supply hoses from the ports at the back of the machine (some water may spill).
Step 3. With a Philips screwdriver, loosen the bolts holding the top panel to the cabinet. Pull the top panel backwards about an inch or so, then lift it off the machine.
Step 4. Disconnect the wires attached to the inlet valve assembly (ensure that you take note of where each plug goes).
Step 5. Using pliers, release the spring clamps securing the outlet tubes to the inlet valve. Detach each tube from the valve (note where each tube goes).
Step 6. Take out the nuts securing the inlet valve to the cabinet using a Philips screwdriver. Pull the valve out of the cabinet, then discard it.
Step 7. Prepare the new valve assembly for installation by unpacking it. Mount the new valve in the cabinet, then secure it by applying the Philips screws.
Step 8. Plug each tube into its appropriate port on the new valve, then slide the retaining clamps into place.
Step 9. Plug each wire harness into the appropriate terminal on the valve assembly. Place the top panel on the cabinet, then push it forwards.
Step 10. Tighten the screws at the back of the top panel using your Philips screwdriver.
Step 11. Reconnect the COLD and HOT water supply hoses to the corresponding ports at the back of the machine.
Step 12. Plug your appliance into the electrical outlet, then turn the water taps on. Ensure that the issue has been fixed by running a cycle.

Step 10. Plug each wire connector into its appropriate terminal on the valve assembly.
Step 11. Lift the control panel and snap it into the mounting base. Place the rear cover on the valve assembly, then secure it by applying the Philips screws.
Step 12. Reconnect the COLD and HOT water supply hoses to the ports at the back of the machine (ensure that each hose is properly connected in order to prevent leaks).
Step 3. Turn the water supply taps on, then reconnect your appliance to the outlet. Try running a cycle to ensure that the issue has been fixed.

Samsung Washing Machine Drain Overflow
If your washing machine drain is overflowing, it is most likely a result of improper drain hose installation. To ensure that water flows out freely into your home drain, ensure that the drain hose is inserted at least 6 inches into the drain.
The hose should also not be inserted more than 8 inches. This will help ensure that water flows freely. You should also ensure that the drain hose is suspended at a minimum height of 18 inches and a maximum height of 96 inches.
Another thing that can cause your drain to overflow is a clogged drain pipe. Remove the drain hose from your home drain. Afterwards, inspect the home drain for any blockages.
If you see any debris take it out. However, if the blockage occurred further down the drain pipe, you will have to contact plumber to clear it.
Note: This applies to both front loader and top loader washing machines.
Why Is My Samsung Washing Machine Overflowing?
If you notice that your Samsung washing machine is overflowing with water, there are two things that could be at fault; the water inlet valve and the water pressure switch.
