Step 1. Shut off your washing machine’s water supply and unplug the power cord from the outlet before starting this repair in order to prevent electrocution or water leakage.
Step 2. Insert a tool such as a putty knife under the top panel to release the two retaining clips. Lift the top panel and support it.
Step 3. With a Philips screwdriver, remove the screws at the bottom of the front panel. Pull the panel upwards and lift it off the machine.
Step 4. Disconnect the two electrical connectors attached to the drain pump assembly.
Step 5. Squeeze the clamp on the hose attached to the drain pump assembly using a pair of pliers and slide them out of place. Pull the hose off the drain pump (some water will spill, so keep a rag nearby).
Step 6. Take out the mounting screws holding the drain pump to the cabinet using a Philips screwdriver. Pull the pump assembly out of your washing machine and set it aside.
Step 7. Remove your new washing machine drain pump assembly from its packaging. Install the new pump assembly in the cabinet and use your screwdriver to apply the mounting screws.
Step 8. Connect each electrical connector to its appropriate terminal on the new washing machine drain pump.
Step 9. Connect the outlet hose to the port on the drain pump and secure it by sliding the retaining clamp into place.
Step 10. Snap the front panel back onto the cabinet and use your screwdriver to apply the screws at the bottom. Lower the top panel and snap it onto the cabinet.

Step 2. Use your Philips screwdriver to remove the screws at the back of your washing machine holding the top panel. Slide the panel backwards about an inch or so, and lift it off the machine.
Step 3. Squeeze the clamp on the dispenser hose attached to the top of the tub and slide it out of place. Pull the hose off the tub.
Step 4. Pull the detergent drawer out and press the tab inside to release it from the housing completely.
Step 5. With your Philips screwdriver, take out the two screws on the metal cross-piece securing the detergent dispenser to the control panel. Slide the dispenser out if place and set it aside.
Step 6. Remove the four screws at the top of the control panel with a Philips screwdriver. Pry the panel off the machine.
Step 7. Disconnect all the electrical connectors attached to the control board assembly (ensure that you take note of where each connector goes). set the control panel aside.
Step 8. Open your washing machine’s door. With a flat-blade screwdriver or a pair of needle-nosed pliers, carefully remove the retaining wire around the door boot seal.
Step 9. Peel the boot seal off the door opening. Use your Philips screwdriver to take out the three screws holding the door lock to the cabinet.
Step 10. Open the lower front access panel of your washing machine and pull the emergency drain hose out of the retainer. Place a container under the hose. Pull the hose’s cap off and let any water stuck in the machine drain out).
Step 11. Once all the water has drained out, put the hose’s cap back on. Use your screwdriver to remove the two screws in the drain pump filter housing. Remove the four screws at the top of the front panel.

Step 21. Connect each electrical connector back to its appropriate terminal on the control board. Snap the control panel onto the machine and use your screwdriver to apply the four screws at the top.
Step 22. Move the detergent dispenser back into place and apply the screws on the cross-piece to secure it. Slide the detergent drawer into the housing.
Step 23. Connect the dispenser hose to the port at the top of the tub and slide the retaining clamp into place to secure it.
Step 24. Snap the top panel back onto the washing machine and apply the screws with your Philips screwdriver to secure it.
Step 25. Plug your washer back into the power outlet and turn the water supply valve back on. Try running a wash cycle to make sure everything works as it should.
