Do the following to replace the door lock in your Frigidaire laundry center washing machine…

Step 1. Always unplug your washing machine from its power supply before starting any repairs in order to prevent electrocution.

Step 2. Insert a putty knife underneath your washing machine’s main top panel to release the two clips holding it. Lift the panel up and disconnect the lid switch wire connector.

Step 3. Pull the main top panel off your washing machine and turn it upside-down. Use a mallet to tap the lid lock assembly out of place. Set the old lid lock aside.

Step 4. Take your new washing machine lid lock out of its packaging. Install the new lid lock in the main top panel and slide it downwards to snap it in place. Connect the wire connectors to the new lid lock.

Step 5. Lower the main top panel onto your washing machine and snap into place. Plug your washing machine back to its power source and run a cycle to ensure that everything is working properly.

How To Change Frigidaire Front Loader Washing Machine Door Lock

Do the following to replace the door lock in your Frigidaire front loader washing machine…

Step 1. Always make sure to unplug your washing machine from its power supply before staring any repairs in order to prevent electrocution.

Step 2. Open the lid of your washing machine. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver under the retaining band around the door boot seal. Work the screwdriver around until the entire retaining band comes off.

Step 3. Peel the door seal away from the door opening. Use a Philips screwdriver to take out the screws holding the door lock assembly to your washing machine. Reach inside your washer and pull the door lock out. Disconnect the electrical connectors attached to the door lock.

Step 4. Set the old lock aside. Take your new door lock assembly out of its packaging. Connect each electrical connector to its appropriate terminal on the new door lock. Put the new lock in place inside the washer. Apply the two screws with your Philips screwdriver to secure it.

Step 5. Fit the door seal around the door opening. Fit the outer retaining band around the door seal (you’ll probably need the flat-blade screwdriver to do this). Close the door of your washing machine and turn on the power supply. Run a wash cycle to ensure that everything is working properly.

Step 5. Put the door seal back on the washing machine’s cabinet and apply the screws to secure it. Close the door of your washing machine and turn on the power supply.
