Water Inlet Filters

KitchenAid Washing Machine Filter Stuck — How To Fix
If your KitchenAid washing machine filter is stuck, it indicates that something has jammed it. Follow the steps below to fix this issue…
Step 1. Ensure that your machine is disconnected from the power outlet before starting this repair in order to prevent electrocution.
Step 2. Take out the bolts holding the lower front access panel to the cabinet using a Torx screwdriver, or a 1/4 inch nut-driver. Lift the panel off the machine and set it aside.
Step 3. Place a small container underneath the emergency drain tube. Pull the cap off the tube, then drain out any water stuck in the machine.
Step 4. With all the water drained out, put the hose’s cap back on. Pry the cap off the drain pump, then disconnect the wire harness.
Step 5. Use a pair of pliers to release the spring clamp securing the sump hose to the drain pump. Detach the hose from the pump (some water may leak).
Step 6. Release the retaining clamp securing the outlet hose to the pump, then detach it.
Step 7. Loosen the bolts holding the drain pump to the cabinet floor using your nut-driver. Carefully pull the pump assembly out of the cabinet.
Step 8. Using needle-nosed pliers or a flat-blade screwdriver, reach into the sump hose port on the pump, then clean out any debris that may have jammed the pump.
Step 9. Once you’ve taken the debris out, try turning the KitchenAid washing machine filter knob to ensure that the issue has been fixed.
Step 10. With the pump filter free, reinstall the drain pump in the cabinet. Secure the pump assembly by tightening the bolts.
